Joe Gierlach is the former Mayor of Nederland, Colorado. He created the JoeGierlach blog © 2011-2017 to enhance mindfulness in civic engagement, examine sustainable systems and explore wellness in our intensified digital society. Joe is documenting his experiences training for the BolderBOULDER to incorporate a runner's routine into his lifestyle. He hopes to provide insight for improving health programming for his community.
Hilary JM Topper is the CEO of HJMT Public Relations Inc., a full-service PR and social media agency located in NY. She is also an avid blogger and curates the NYLifestyleBlog.com, ATriathletesDiary.com blog and hosts a weekly radio podcast. Additionally she teaches social media and communications technology at Hofstra University for graduate and undergraduate students.
Leslie Armstrong, age 36 writes Hiking Mommy. She has 3 little boys (ages 7, 5 and 4) who she chases around the house, yard, block, and up and down the trail. She has a pair of Sanitas clogs that she wears to work where she's an ER doctor in Colorado, working day and night shifts saving lives. Her running shoes are what she puts on when she has a spare moment and hits the trail for her own emotional and physical health as often as she can.
Matt Thomson is a 42 year old Realtor living in Ken Caryl, a gorgeous neighborhood in Littleton, CO and writes Matt Thomson Homes. He has been married for 15 years and has 2 amazing daughters. Despite a successful collegiate running career, life got a hold of him in his 30's and he gained just shy of 55lbs, losing all control of my health. Knowing something had to change, he got back into fitness and eventually running again just over a year ago.
Sue is a full time registered nurse, and mother of 4 amazing children. She has a unique approach to exercise, most often traversing the hallways of a local hospital as a means of "training". With three of four children now in college, Sue has once again "taken to the streets" to log additional miles. For Sue, becoming a blogger for the 2017 Bolder Boulder is the icing on the cake to having already participated in this amazing event at least 20 times.
Lesley is 32 years old originally from Austin, TX. She was a two-sport athlete in high school with soccer and lacrosse, and played lacrosse for 3 years at Babson College. After a move to Dallas she fell in love with running and knocked off a handful of 5k's, 2 10k's, and 4 half marathons, in various states. She has since joined the staff at CU and looks forward to her first Colorado race, the BolderBOULDER. Lesley writes the blog In Lesley's Corner.
Chris Englert, the Walking Traveler and writer the blog Eat Walk Live of believes walking is the platform for life. Volunteered into wander-lusting at age of five, she’s since traveled all 50 US states and 51 countries. She loves Denver, has hiked all of its major trails, and has lead urban hikes in all 78 Denver neighborhoods.
